FEBRUARY – STAND UP TO CANCER WITH CELEBRITY BAKE OFF

Stand Up To Cancer speeds up life-saving cancer research by taking developments in the lab and accelerating them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients who need them. We’ve set ourselves an ambitious target to ensure 3 in 4 people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034.

We have chosen to support this charity having both lost family & friends to this awful disease. We hope to help SU2C to reach their target through our donations. 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime. This makes it even more important to do what we can to find cures & treatments quicker.

MARCH – THE BURNT CHEF PROJECT

https://www.theburntchefproject.com/

The Burnt Chef Project was setup with the sole intention of eradicating mental health stigma within hospitality. Long antisocial hours, tough environmental conditions and pressures to perform are just some of the issues that hospitality professionals are fighting against on a daily basis. Hospitality staff should be able to discuss the state of their mental health and gain support from their peers and employers. It's important that although mental health can't be seen it is regularly discussed and policies reviewed.  Together we can burn away mental health stigma within hospitality once and for all.

We chose to support The Burnt Chef Project because both of us have worked in hospitality for several years (Paul for over 30, Beckie for over 10). In the last few years the challenges presented through the pandemic, & subsequent closure of our wonderful industry, now more than ever our mental health is being affected. Here’s to ending the stigma, & helping this brilliant charity to meet even more people in the industry who need support.

APRIL – MINDOUT

https://mindout.org.uk/

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people.

We work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern.

We welcome all LGBTQ people and those who may not identify as LGBTQ including men who have sex with men, women who have sex with women, intersex people, people who previously identified as trans and people who are questioning their sexual and/or gender identities. If in doubt, please do contact us.
We chose to support MindOut as we are both big advocates for the LGBTQ+ community, in our business. Our clothing is made to be inclusive, that anyone can wear with confidence & pride. We won’t say “women’s clothing” or “men’s clothing” if you like it, then you wear it. Enjoy being the bad ass that you were born to be. We have your back every step of the way.
